Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling in Callander & Bridge of Allan, near Stirling

Integrative Psychotherapist Supporting You Through Life’s Challenges

I am a Minster Centre trained Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor offering individual integrative psychotherapy and counselling in Callander and Bridge Of Allan, which are close to Stirling. I have experiencer of working with both adults and adolescents.

At the first session/contact we will talk together about what it is that brought you to therapy. I will explain how I work and will explore if you feel safe and confident enough for us to work together. You will have an opportunity to think about whether or not the way I work feels helpful to you, and if not, we can discuss alternative options.

I am a registered member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and adhere to its professional and ethical standards.

When Therapy Can Help

There are times in our lives when talking things over with friends and/or family (or not talking to anyone) does not help us to realise the changes we might be searching for. Or we may be reluctant to worry those close to us. It is at these times that counselling and psychotherapy can offer a supportive space to explore what is going on for you.

What I Can Help With

Counselling and Psychotherapy can be a positive way to explore a range of emotional issues and challenges including:

Anxiety and panic attacks

Bereavement

Depression

Effects of physical, emotional or sexual abuse

Relationship difficulties

Exploring “where to go from here” questions

My Approach

How I Work Integratively

Using an integrative approach means I believe that no single therapeutic model is more effective than all others. I prefer to relate to individuals as they present in the moment, rather than requiring either of us to conform to a single model.

A Mind and Body Approach

I hold the basic assumption that the body and mind are not separate entities; when we work on one part we positively affect the other. Thinking, Feeling and Being are important aspects of our human experience and integrative therapy aims to give respect and value to each.

Benefits of Integrative Psychotherapy

I believe that working Integratively opens the door to a two-way dialogue that facilitates the development of a mutually created relationship. Through this relationship, based on mutual trust and respect, integrative psychotherapy aims to help you:

Identify underlying assumptions, patterns and themes of your view of the world and yourself in it to help you recognise your strengths and talents

Make decisions differently about the way you may respond to life challenges and changes

Improve communication with those close to you

Create new meaning and purpose in the way you experience your life

Sessions

The aim of our meetings is to provide a confidential and safe environment where a relationship can emerge between us to help you share and explore the emotional issues that may be of current concern to you. Through this relationship we will explore issues together at a pace that feels comfortable to you.

Fees & availability

Each session of individual counselling lasts for 50 minutes, the number of sessions depends on the needs of the individual. Sessions are normally weekly at a mutually agreed time each week. All sessions are fully confidential and comply with the UKCP's ethical framework.

My fees are £65 per 50 minute session. I do have a few sessions where the fee may be negotiated depending on your situation.

Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash or by bank transfer.
